Since I was 12 years old, I knew I wanted to write for Jesus. He has graciously given me many opportunities to do just that over the years. I’ve written for newspapers, churches and magazines, and even published an Advent devotional study, There’s No Christmas Without the Cross. My heart has always been to encourage people to delight in the Bible.
More recently, much of my writing has been centered on my ministry, Blue Tassel, inspired by Numbers 15:37–40, a reminder that God desires for us to know and remember His Word.
Today, I get to celebrate a dream come true: writing about Jesus for a newspaper. It truly feels like the “ice cream with the cherry on top” kind of dream. And I have to laugh, who would have imagined this would begin to unfold in 2026, when digital seems to reign supreme?
I’m looking forward to sharing a weekly column, Notes from the Joyologist, along with a Church of the Week feature and other stories of faith and community. Each Sunday, I’ll also offer a short devotional from the Psalms for you to dwell on.
My prayer is that through these words, you would come to know His Word, and delight in it.
